Mission Goals/Objectives

Mission

The mission of the Law Department is to emphasize both teaching quality and research capability and to provide students with guidance so that they can develop the required core competences with solid understanding of legal theories and practice. The students are expected to become law professionals with basic knowledge in foreign languages, information technology and humanities, to have a sense of responsibility and high moral character, and to devote themselves to serve the nation.
 

Goals of undergraduate students

1.To develop law professionals with fundamental knowledge of law and capability of handling general legal affairs.

2.To develop law professionals with basic knowledge in foreign languages (mainly English) and information technology.

3.To develop law professionals with humanities, professional ethics, independent thinking, and devotion.

 

Goals of graduate students

1.To develop law professionals with legal research capability.

2.To develop law professionals with legal theories and practice in the areas of judiciary, financial law, and technological law.

3.To develop law professionals with international vision, diverse values, and professional ethics.

 

Core Competencies of undergraduate students

1. To understand general legal principles and notions;

2. To acquaint oneself with common legal rules;

3. To search and apply legal information;

4. To command foreign languages at basic level (mainly English);

5. To deliver legal opinions and to communicate and coordinate;

6. To think independently, to judge merits and to solve problems;

7. To relate law to other humanity issues.

 

Core Competencies of graduate students

1. To independently conduct legal research ;

2. To acquaint oneself with knowledge and practical expertise in general, financial, and technological laws.  

3. To command foreign languages necessary for legal researches;

4. To express legal thinking.
